Alessandro Travaglini è un musicista fine e dotato di doti tecniche ed interpretative di assoluto primo piano. Travaglini è senza dubbio uno dei giovani concertisti più interessanti da me incontrati.

Alessandro Travaglini studied for his diploma under Aldo Settimi at the Conservatory of Pescara. Upon being awarded his diploma, he went on to study under Jaques Lancelot and Jacques Di Donato at the Consevatoire National Superieur de Musique de Lyon receiving the Diplome National d’Etudes Superieurs de Musique. He then went on to study under Giuseppe Garbarino at the Accademia Chigiana di Siena receiving the Diploma d’Onore.
In 1984 he received first prize in the competition ‘Concorso Internazionale d’Esecuzione Musicale di Ancona’ (president of the judges was Goffred Petrassi) and in 1991 received third prize in the Chamber Music International Competition of Martigny (Switzerland).
He was first clarinettist in the Lyon Opera Symphony Orchestra under the direction of J.E. Gardiner and first clarinettist in the Symphony Orchestra of the Paris Conservatory under the direction of Zubin Metha and Pierre Boulez.
In Italy he has collaborated with numerous orchestras, including: the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the RAI orchestras of Milan and Turin, the Opera of Rome, St Carlo of Naples, Arena di Verona, Fenice di Venezia, the Angelicum di Milano, Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano, Philarmonia Veneta di Treviso, Teatro Lirico di Cagliari and the Orchestra Cantelli di Milano, and the Italian Pharmonic Orchestra.
Playing with the most important concert societies he works with artists including Aldo Ciccolini, Bruno Canino, Jean-Guyhen Queyras, Rocco Filippini, Alain Meunier, Antonio Ballista, Thomas Christian, Fabrice Pierre, Giorgia Tomassi, Mario Delli Ponti, Francesco Manara, Danilo Rossi, Magdalena Aparta, Suela Mullay, Daniela Uccello, Jodi Levitz, Teatro alla Scala String Quartett, I Solisti di Milano and others.
As a soloist he has performed the Chamber Orchestra Wiener Concert – Verein, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe Nouvelle Paris, the Solisti Aquilani, the Collegio dei Musici of Milan (under the direction of Gianandrea Noseda), the Archi di Firenze, the Chamber Orchestra of Pau (France), the Youth orchestra of Belgium, the United European chamber Orchestra, the Euromediterranean Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Torun, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Lodz, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Lublin (Poland), the Chamber Orchestra I Solisti di Milano, the Symphonic Orchestra of Lecce, the MAV Orchestra of Budapest, the Euro-Mediterranean Orchestra and others.
He has conducted master courses at the Accademia Musicale Pescarese, International Summer Courses at Lanciano, Vasto, Offida, Giulianova, Carloforte, Voghera and in the Superior Academies of Wroclaw and Lodz (Poland) and in the Suwon University (Korea).
From 1993 to 1995 he was artistic director of the festival „Estate Musicale Abruzzese” held in major centers of Abruzzo. In the years 2012, 2013 and 2014 was Superintendent of Masterclass at the Foundation School of Advanced Musicale of Saluzzo.
He has professor of clarinet at the Conservatory of Milan, Palermo and Cagliari, presently, he is professor of clarinet at the Conservatory of Brescia.
